The latest edition of The Catechist Newsletter from the Department of Religious Education and Evangelization is live, including a look at the CGS Atrium at St. Stephen Cathedral and four easy prayer projects.

A special collection is taking place on October 17 & 18 for the retired priests of the Eparchy of Phoenix. Each family is asked to give $30, and the Eparchy’s goal is to raise $75,000. The pension helps retired priests in their daily expenses (housing, living, automobile, etc).

Newspaper accounts reveal Blessed Fulton Sheen's 1955 Byzantine Liturgy at Mount Saint Macrina, offered for Russia and broadcast behind the Iron Curtain. The Eparchy of Phoenix recalls this historic Divine Liturgy as the Church celebrates his beatification.

The inaugural online update from the Department of Religious Education is available for everyone to read. Sent from Fr. Chris Zugger to catechists in the eparchy, it is also available here along with an archive of past editions.

On the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, August 15, 2026 the Winlock Outreach was raised to the Byzantine Catholic Mission of the Dormition of the Theotokos, with Father Forrest Tucker taking over as Administrator.

On July 31 - August 2nd, the Eparchy of Phoenix held its first Catechist Retreat at Saint Stephen Cathedral in Phoenix, welcoming over 50 catechists from across the Eparchy.

Bishop Artur has written a Pastoral Letter to the faithful of the Eparchy of Phoenix on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, "An Apostolic Missionary Church in the Heart of our Nation."

Soon after the United States gained its independence, the first Catholic diocese in the United States of America was established in Baltimore, Maryland in 1789. In recognition of this, and in honor of the country's 250th anniversary of its founding, Archbishop William Lori of the Archdiocese of Baltimore published a pastoral letter "In Charity and Truth: Toward a Renewed Political Culture."

"Igniting Hearts" series "Theology of the Body Immersion" will take place on Tuesdays From Aug. 20 - Oct 22, 2026 from 6:30-9:00 PM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Scottsdale, AZ.

Bishop Artur will join other Catholic bishops in the United States in the act of consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe in Orlando, FL.

The 2025 Eparchy of Phoenix Financial Report: A Shared Commitment to Proclaim the Gospel, was released by the Department of Stewardship and Fiscal Services. This report offers a transparent overview of the financial health, priorities, and stewardship of our missionary eparchy.

A catechists’ weekend of renewal will be offered at the Cathedral of St. Stephen in Phoenix, AZ on July 31 - August 2, 2026 for all ECF coordinators and teachers in the eparchy. Speak with your priest if you would like to attend.

Bishop Artur will be travelling across the southern half of California for Holy Week, going as far north as San Luis Obispo and as far south as San Diego before celebrating Pascha with St. Nicholas of Myra in Fontana.

In response to unsettling events across the globe, the bishops of the Eastern Catholic churches published a short letter underlining continuing solidarity with our suffering faithful in the war zones of the world entitled: “A Cry For Peace and Justice from the East-ern Catholic Bishops of the United States" during their annual meeting in St. Louis, MO.
