We need education at all levels in our Byzantine Catholic Church, from the youngest to materials for the older generation! For those who are called by the Holy Spirit to serve as catechists in any of these programs, we are trying to provide resources that will include digital media in the near future. Currently, the Becoming Byzantine Program on YouTube (see below) is a great source of learning.

Please refer to your pastor/ administrator when thinking about religious education. We have a variety of methods available.

Light for Life: a Catechetical series made for Byzantine Catholics by GWU (God With Us). Now in one volume! An excellent resource for teens and adults alike.
Christ our Pascha (COP): Created for the Byzantine Ukrainian Catholic Church, but is quite applicable for all Byzantine Catholics, e.g. Ruthenian, Melkite, etc. (PDF).
Becoming Byzantine (YouTube): A video series that supplements COP, this is excellent for convert preparation, adults or teens returning to the Byzantine Catholic Church, or Roman Catholics coming for the first time.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS): The Catechesis of t he Good Shepherd® Method is a Montessori-like approach to education. It requires intensive training of our catechists but is well worth it if a parish has the dedication and resources. Contact Theresa Grondin for further information.
